Braiden's not so happy face

Today Braiden couldn't wait to pick up
Matthew & Hailey from school.
Usually I have enough time to get myself ready and then get Braiden ready (hat & jackets on - house all locked up), but today I was super busy and was running late. I ran to get my jacket and this is the face Braiden was making cuz he couldn't wait for me to pick him up and load him in the car. He really looks forward to picking up his BIG brother and sister from school every day!

Preparing for Girl Scouts International Day - Japan

Obon Dance Lesson

Making sushi

Getting dressed up in a kimono

Auntie Pat & Hailey

Auntie Pat & Matthew

Hailey and troop are participating in this years Girl Scouts International Day. They were proud to represent Japan as their country. In preparation for their big day, Auntie Pat so graciously took time to come over and teach the girls a few things about Japan :
Obon Dance
How to make Sushi
Share some arts & crafts
....including making origami
Many troops from around the area will gather and perform a traditional song and or dance and have a booth set up to share interesting things about their representing countries. They will also serve native dishes which they will also get to sample from the other countries as well.
The girls get an opportunity to not only learn about their country of study but also to learn about the other countries that other girl scout troops are presenting.
This is sure to be a great experience!

*** BIG HUGGS N' KISSES TO AUNTIE PAT
FROM ALL OF US ~ THANK YOU! ***

A few minutes of joy!

Motherhood is indeed gratifying!

Towards the end of breakfast this morning, Braiden decided to spread some joy my way. The past couple of days he has been fascinated with funny faces we make, so what a great time to teach him more about our eyes and nose. We've been playing eye ball peek-a-boo and smelling and sniffing. As you can see from about mid way through this video, he was squinting his eyes and you can hear him smelling and sniffing. These moments are forever priceless!

Crawling through tunnels

This evening we decided to set up camp in daddy & mommy's room. We put up a tent (haven't added any balls in it yet-as this will act as a ball pit) and connected 2 tunnels on each end. At first Braiden wasn't to sure what this contraption was but with a little coaxing from Matthew and Hailey, he was crawling in and out of his camp site all evening. The kids decided to drive their remote control cars through the tunnels and Braiden was chasing them! He was having a blast playing peek-a-boo too!
